517: ‘Useful AI’: Your Key to Visibility Project Success, with Shippeo
Lucien Besse is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Shippeo, a real-time transportation visibility platform. Coming from a finance background, he co-founded the company in 2014 after identifying the "black box" of B2B transportation as a major industry pain point. Besse stresses that achieving true visibility is a continuous improvement project built on high-quality, trustworthy data, which allows for actionable insights. He advocates for a collaborative "visibility engineering" approach, combining technology, process, and people, and believes that being honest with customers about the required effort is key to successful partnerships.

Today I’m joined by a leader in the ‘2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platforms’, Shippeo.
Shippeo is changing the game for multimodal, bringing real-time transportation visibility to shippers and logistics providers so they can build resilient, sustainable and customer-centric supply chains.
Today, Lucien Besse, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Shippeo, joins me to talk all about navigating supply chain chaos. We’ll be exploring why supply chain professionals are ‘the calm in the storm,’ and Shippeo’s vision to empower them and keep the world moving. We’ll be shining a light on ‘garbage in, garbage out’ data problems, and why AI fails. And, we’ll be sharing the keys to visibility project success.
