552: Expand Your Visibility and Achieve Asset Tracking at Scale, with Samsara
David Gal is the Vice President of Product and Engineering at Samsara, where he leads the connected equipment business focused on digitizing non-vehicle assets. He explains that traditional tracking methods provide only sparse data points and details how Samsara's new disposable Tracking Label leverages their vast IoT network to offer scalable, real-time visibility. Gal advocates for a tiered tracking strategy, using different devices for different assets to create a complete operational picture. He shares that the ultimate vision is a fully digitized ecosystem where integrated data helps businesses proactively identify risks and shift from a reactive to a proactive operational model.

Today I’m joined by Samsara, a company that is on a mission to improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the operations that power the global economy.
Samsara is the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, which enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness IoT data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations.
Today David Gal, VP of Product and Engineering for Connected Equipment at Samsara, joins me to talk all about Samsara’s Tracking Label, what makes it different, and how it’s helping to bring intelligence to every leg of the freight journey. We’ll be exploring why you should be thinking about building a tiered tracking strategy and what a mature, connected equipment program actually looks like. And we’ll be shining a light on the capability gap the industry most needs to close.
